Are there any precautions to take when choosing an emergency exit row seat?

In line with the notification from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, only passengers who meet all of the following items are seated in an emergency exit row seat:

・Those who are 15 years old or older
・Those who do not need the help of guardians or staff when boarding
・Those who can carry out emergency escape assistance such as opening and closing aircraft doors
・Those who understand the escape procedure guidance and crew’s instructions and can verbally communicate it to other passengers
・Those who can speak Japanese or English
・Those who do not need to assist their companion(s) during an emergency evacuation
・Those who are not traveling with children (under 8 years old)

Those who agree to assist in the event of an emergency evacuationNote that those sitting in an emergency exit row seat are not permitted to place carry-on baggage under the seat in front, by one’s feet, or on one’s lap.
All carry-on baggage will be stored in the storage compartment above your seat.
